Explore with Michael Jones*

Mike is a nationally recognized science educator with a wide range of experiences and qualifications. Join Mike in Island Lake Group's laboratory, collecting vessel, in the natural beauty of the Pacific Northwest.

The Informal Science Library offers students of all ages access to the world around us through exciting 'electronic field trips' which he pioneered 39 years ago.

Selected topics are live-streamed and interactive from ILGs lab and aboard our 22-foot collecting vessel.

The Washington State K-12 Science Learning Standards (WSSLS) are the Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS). These standards describe what students should know and be able to do at each grade level. ILG content is targeted at Washington State 4th Grade Storyline through Middle School learning objectives.

Our content is specifically designed to supplement home-schoolers, private and public school-age learners and the general public.

Our goal is to stimulate interest in STEM-identified core areas.
